Raymond E. Feist is an American fantasy author best known for the Riftwar saga, beginning with Magician, a foundational work of modern epic fantasy.
Raymond E. Feist created the richly imagined world of Midkemia, which began as a role-playing game setting and became the basis for one of the most popular fantasy series of recent decades.
His debut, Magician (1982), launched the Riftwar saga, following the apprentice magician Pug and his companions through a war between worlds, and spawned numerous sequels and connected series spanning Midkemia’s history. His accessible storytelling and expansive world-building won him a large and loyal readership.
Feist is admired as a cornerstone author of modern epic fantasy, whose Riftwar cycle introduced many readers to the genre.
